Music and me

My name is Reagan Barnado, I am a sophomore and planning on graduating with a major in music education. I live in Union, SC. I have a brother who plays trumpet in his marching band. I have two cats and a dog, in which are all rescues. I love to play video games and sleep, in which 90% of the time I am doing. I play flute for both as a primary and for church.

Above is my family! This was taken at my brothers senior pictures for marching band. I love listening to laid back and upbeat music that can help me relate to life or events. I plan to teach elementary music (or maybe something else if I change my mind).

1. As of right now my go-to music piece is Lover Girl by Laufey. The reason this is my go-to piece is because 1. I love the way it sounds and how she sings it. It has a lot of character and sounds like something in a romance movie and 2. I am (un)fortunately a lover girl. It speaks to me on a different level because I can relate to what she is expressing and singing.

2. My walk up song would most likely be "Say it louder" by Panic! at the Disco, Panic! at the disco has been a huge part of my life and is what got me into wanting to teach music. This piece has such a good melody to the beginning and I would love to walk in to that.

3. The one song I have never connected with is "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus. Not once have I partied in the USA and I don't plan too. Maybe its because I live in SC in the middle of nowhere but I can sing the song but cant relate because I don't get invited to a lot of parties (actually none).

  2. Hi Reagan!!! I too am a Panic at the Disco fan, however I do jam out to Party in the USA (without being invited to parties). Thus, I invite you to dance with me to whatever song you would like to (:

  3. Hi Reagan!! I LOVE the Laufey song that you discussed, I agree with all of the points that you made, but especially about her voice and the character which really add so much to the song. While I do think Party in the USA is a banger, I can relate strongly to all of the points you made about it (also I love and appreciate that all of your animals are rescues)!

  4. Hi Reagan! I'm interested in how Panic at the Disco got you into teaching, that seems like an interesting road! I am also a huge Laufey fan, and that song is absolutely amazing!
